Zijin News - On June 12, a commencement ceremony was held at the Zijin School of Geology and Mining, Fuzhou University, for the Class of 2022. Of the 165 graduates, 68 will continue to pursue a master’s degree. During the ceremony, a session was held to award scholarships of RMB 88,000 to 11 “Chen Jinghe Outstanding Graduates”.

The Zijin School of Geology and Mining is a collaborative effort between Zijin Mining and Fuzhou University, with the aim of training high-caliber talent in geology and mining. It is qualified to provide full-time undergraduate and postgraduate programs. Since its founding in 2007, the School has produced more than 600 graduates for the global mining industry, a positive contribution to academic research in mining and the development of mining companies.

Zijin Mining places a high priority on the development of the School. It has invested RMB 253.4 million to fund the construction of the School’s teaching building in Fuzhou and its center for practical training in Shanghang county. Zijin has also set up awards programs for professors and scholarships at the School.

The “Chen Jinghe Outstanding Graduates” scholarship was created and funded by the Chen Jinghe Education Foundation of Western Fujian, a foundation started by Mr Chen Jinghe, founder and chairman of Zijin Mining, and chairman of the School’s council.
