Zijin News - The ESG team of Zijin’s affiliate CARRILU, a cement producer in the Democratic Republic of the Congo visited the MAMAN THABITA Orphanage in Kolwezi, DRC and brought with them much-needed supplies. The orphanage accommodates orphans from troubled areas in the northeast of the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
Mulleur, an employee of CARRILU who volunteers at the orphanage, learned that more than ten children in the orphanage lost their lives to hunger and diseases in a short period of time. After confirming the needs of the orphanage, CARRILU donated corn flour, cooking oil, sugar and other daily necessities to it.
The TV station of Lualaba Province and other media outlets covered the donation and acknowledged the company’s efforts in improving local living standards. According to their reports, local community members regard CARRILU as a responsible, caring company that is willing to offer a helping hand to those in need.
CARRILU places a high priority on ESG activities. More than 50 employees of the company have been providing services to communities as volunteers for a long time, contributing their due share to community development.
