Liex S.A., a subsidiary of Zijin Mining, is in active discussions with Argentina's National Technological University (UTN) for potential joint educational programs. Martin Pereira, Secretary of Academic Planning of the UTN, recently visited Liex to explore this partnership.

Building on preliminary discussions and site visits, UTN is planning to establish a satellite campus, offering programs in mechanical and electrical engineering, and equipment maintenance. The prospective campus will be situated close to the Tres Quebradas lithium project, which is operated by Liex, aiming to leverage the expertise of both the UTN and the company to train engineers and technicians for the lithium mining sector.

Founded in 1959, the UTN is a prestigious national university that stands at the forefront of engineering education in Argentina. Having produced a large number of engineering and technical experts for Argentina, it currently boasts a strong student body of over 70,000. Notably, 16 UTN alumni are currently employed at Liex.
