On September 10, H.E. Ziyozoda Sulaimon, Deputy Prime Minister of Tajikistan, held discussions in Xiamen with Mr. Chen Jinghe, Executive Chairman of Zijin Mining, on the sidelines of the 23rd China International Fair for Investment and Trade.
Deputy PM Sulaimon praised Zijin Mining’s Zeravshan Gold Mine Project in Tajikistan for its excellent operational performance and advanced processes. He said that the project created a large number of job opportunities and has been providing long-term support for local education, health care, infrastructure and other causes. The government and people of Tajikistan are fully aware of it and thank Zijin Mining for the significant contributions it made to the country since its acquisition of the project 16 years ago.
Chairman Chen said that Zijin Mining is a responsible global company committed to the value of Development for All. The company operates in compliance with laws and regulations and attaches great importance to safety and environmental protection. Zeravshan’s recently commissioned copper smelter utilizes cutting-edge technologies developed by Zijin Mining, enabling on-site processing of copper and gold concentrates. It will play an important role in driving economic growth and the development of the mining industry in Tajikistan.
He added that Zijin will accelerate the growth of its Tajik project, aiming to build a bigger and more robust presence in Tajikistan while making even greater contributions to the country's economic and social development.
