A certificate ceremony for 33 recent graduates was held in late October by Zijin’s local gold mining unit
Another 104 people are receiving skills training through programs sponsored by it
Continental Gold, a gold mining subsidiary of Zijin Mining in Colombia, held a certificate ceremony for 33 graduates in late October at the Santa Maria School in Buriticá, Antioquia, to celebrate their completion of technical training. To date, vocational training programs sponsored by the company have enabled 345 young local individuals to acquire technical training and certifications.
The just-concluded program has been offered in partnership with the National Training Service (Servicio Nacional de Aprendizaje) of Colombia. All of the 33 graduates, including 13 female students, are from the towns within the footprint of the company’s Buriticá Gold Mine, such as Buriticá, Higaldo, and Cañasgordas.
Programs supported by Continental Gold also have an ongoing impact, currently providing skills training to 64 community residents and another 40 company employees.
